PostBus Switzerland Ltd
PostBus Switzerland Ltd is the leading bus company in the public transport sector. With almost 3,000 employees and more than 2,000 vehicles at its disposal, PostBus carries over 120 million passengers each year. It has a share capital of CHF 25 million.
Its trademark – the three-tone horn and the yellow Postbuses – are part of Switzerland's cultural identity. The PostBus brand embodies the values of reliability, security and trust.
History
PostBus was first established back in 1849 with the introduction of the horse-drawn postal network whose last ambassador – the legendary Gotthard post – still operates along the Gotthard Pass to this day, delighting many an onlooker. The first scheduled service between Berne and Detligen began operation in 1906. Since this time, the network of routes has been greatly expanded throughout Switzerland. In 2003, PostBus transported over 100 million passengers for the first time. Its first ventures abroad came in 2001 and 2004 when PostBus began operating routes in the Principality of Liechtenstein and in Dole (France) respectively.

PostBus Switzerland Ltd is an important provider of system management functions in the public transport sector. PostBus intends to grow in international niche markets and in municipal and urban transport and make an additional contribution to the company's results. With the help of clever alliances, PostBus has been making a significant contribution to urban transport and using synergies to its core business – regional passenger transport in Switzerland.
