Timetable amendments in Central Switzerland

Contrary to the information contained in the printed timetables for the Central Switzerland region, PostBus made the following short-term changes in order to optimize its service. The information in the electronic timetable has been amended.

Route 71 Lucerne-Eigenthal

Express PostBus services will now operate between Lucerne and Kriens, starting immediately. The previous empty runs from and to the bus depot in Kriens will now be opened up to passengers. This should help to ease the capacity problem on route 1.

The new express services will run throughout the day, with additional services at peak hours in the morning and evening between Kriens Busschleife and Lucerne station. Here, the bus will serve only the stops along route 71 Lucerne-Eigenthal. These include: Kriens Busschleife, Kriens Alpenstrasse, Lucerne Eichhof, Lucerne Pilatusplatz and Lucerne Bahnhof (bus platform 4). In addition to the destination, the vehicles are also marked "Eilkurs" (express route).

In an initial phase, feedback will be gathered on this additional service. There is no timetable with set departure times as the Postbuses leave the depot earlier or later, depending on traffic volumes, to reach their departure points at Lucerne station or in the opposite direction.

All public transport tickets are valid, including the new Passepartout zoned tickets.
